The town of Tsarevo lies over two small peninsulas, bordering a beautiful creek. The resort is situated 70 km southeast of Bourgas and 17 km from Primosko. In the past it was known as Vassiliko and Michurin. Remains of a Medieval fortress, built in square shape at the end of the Castro cape, have been discovered in the south peninsula. To the north of Tsarevo, there are parts of amphoras and Roman ceramics, dating from 4th - 6th centuries AC.
