Founded during the 2nd century b.c., the Thracian settlement Larisa, during 14th century is being named St. Vlas - the protector of livestock trading. There have been five monasteries around the village. In the past years the sea and mountain combination, as well as the Mediterranean climate, win the village a recognition of a preffered tourist destination
