Bagalevtsi village is huddled at the foot of the Elena Balkan, just 15 km northwest of the town of Elena. The Vesselina River meanders through the village, which is planted with fish such as the barbel, chub and trout. The hills in the vicinity of the village are overgrown with mixed oak, hornbeam, lime and ashl-tree forests. Wild boars, wolves and foxes live in the forest but rabbits and deer are the most widely spread animals in this part of the mountain. The fresh air is favorable for the treatment of a variety of pulmonary disorders. The region around the Bagalevtsi offers excellent conditions for hunting, fishing and tourism.
