'TREE PIGS FARM' is a beautiful Bulgarian Bed and Breakfast Guest House in the rural village of Nikolovo (Haskovo District) next to a fishing lake in the pine covered foothills of the Southern Rhodopes mountain range, 25 kilometres from Kardjali and only a short drive from the Greek border. Our small Hotel Guest House is near Kardjali (25kms) Perperikon, Haskovo (25kms), Stara Zagora and Asenovgrad. We are on the main bus route from Sofia, Bourgas and Varna with excellent public transport throughout the region. Some of the historical sites and natural phenomenom you can visit during your stay at our B&B mini pig farm include: Perperikon, Orpheus Tomb at Tatul, Castle Ustra, stone mushrooms and caves near Kardjali. Lake Thrakia is situated right on the edge of our village and is teeming with an abundant variety of fish. The surrounding hills, which offer some of the most stunning scenery in the world, are full of wildlife and birds. Some species you may not have seen in your own country for many years and this is an ideal base for birdwatching in Bulgaria. This area of the Bulgarian Rhodopes is ideal for hiking holidays and hill walking suitable for the most experienced of hikers and those who wish to pace themselves to a more gentle walk. Our wonderful house is central to many newly discovered archaeological sites and natural phenomenon. Your visits to Kardjali and Haskovo both offer an eclectic selection of restaurants, coffee shops, bars, markets, modern outlets and without exception, some of the friendliest welcoming people in the world. In fact this region of Bulgaria has something to offer everyone with a sense of adventure and an interest in other cultures. You choose how you want to spend your time with us!
